The Targeting Group builds software that transforms petabytes of data into audience targeting strategies, serving content to millions daily. You'll join the team developing MNTN Matched, a flagship machine learning product that is a critical revenue driver. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Audience Targeting team, you will be deeply involved in developing and improving the core models and systems powering the targeting platform. Your responsibilities include: - Create and support Kotlin APIs and services for distributed targeting systems—the most critical component of the business - Work across multiple languages and tools including Rust, PySpark, Kafka, and relational databases - Build high-volume, reliable services that operate at scale, handling hundreds of terabytes of data daily - Understand the broader context of the software beyond individual components you build - Optimize and enhance existing products - Collaborate with Product and Project Leads to explain complex technical issues - Raise the bar on engineering culture through example and mentorship The role emphasizes both technical depth and breadth—you'll need to be comfortable diving into tech stacks outside your primary specialization while maintaining strong fundamentals in backend systems design.
