The Sports Media Team works with exclusive data rights for top leagues including MLB, NBA, NHL, and NASCAR, with direct access to in-stadium data including player and optical tracking. For other leagues like the NFL and NCAA, the team builds tooling for an extensive scouting network. The systems power the fastest and most accurate live game data in the market, supporting billions of API calls monthly and enabling global partners like Apple, Google, Amazon, Facebook, The Score, and Bleacher Report to build exceptional fan experiences. Analytics and broadcast solutions also help storytellers at Fox Sports, Bally Sports, CBS Sports, NBC Sports, and others deliver narratives, statistics, and graphics seen by millions during major sporting events.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, build, test, and deploy cloud-native, high-scale systems used by enterprise customers and broadcasters worldwide. You'll work on cross-functional product teams alongside Product, Engineering, and Design to deliver impactful features and reliable systems. You'll collaborate with internal and external engineering groups to design well-architected services with clear boundaries and strong alignment. You'll champion best practices that improve speed, scalability, security, and maintainability of applications, participate in code reviews to ensure high code quality and knowledge sharing, mentor less-experienced engineers, and foster a supportive collaborative engineering culture. You'll contribute to an environment where AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI, etc.) are integral to the workflow and serve as a trusted technical leader within the team, promoting engineering excellence and a strong DevOps mindset.
The primary tech stack includes JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, React, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, AuroraDB, SQS, Event Bridge, AWS, Kubernetes, Lambdas, and GraphQL. Note that the stack may vary depending on the team, as hiring occurs across multiple product lines.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 6+ years of professional software development experience, including designing and building production systems at scale
- Strong experience with data-driven architecture and modern systems design (REST APIs, microservices, GraphQL experience a plus)
- Proven track record building scalable, reliable, maintainable software in production environments
- Proficiency with SQL, NoSQL, and in-memory data stores at scale
- Solid understanding of core software engineering principles and patterns
- Experience integrating AI tools into development workflows or using AI to enhance product capabilities
- Experience with SaaS platforms and cloud-based ecosystems
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitLab/GitHub, and automated deployment tooling
- Comfortable working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
- Experience with AI-assisted coding tools like Cursor, Copilot, etc.
BONUS:
- Strong understanding and implementation of cloud-native architectures (AWS serverless and/or containers preferred) at scale in production, or a strong desire to learn and gain these skills
