ServiceNow's Impact Engineering team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and develop scalable, reliable, and maintainable software across the full stack. You will partner with product managers to translate requirements into well-architected solutions and own features end-to-end. Your responsibilities include building intuitive, extensible experiences using modern UI frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue); designing and delivering new products and features while enhancing existing capabilities; embedding automated testing and quality practices across functional, integration, regression, and performance testing; participating in design and code reviews to champion engineering best practices; troubleshooting complex systems to optimize performance and strengthen reliability and observability; and sharing knowledge to foster a culture of engineering excellence.
Impact Engineering sits at the intersection of product innovation and platform engineering, working on strategically important initiatives including AI-native experiences, Implementation Agent, Value Management, and Platform Health. REQUIREMENTS:
- Australian citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance (mandatory)
- Currently reside in Australia
- 6+ years of software engineering experience delivering high-quality products
- Proficiency in JavaScript, Python, Java, or similar object-oriented languages
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue)
- Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and design patterns
- Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience using AI-powered tools or workflows, including validating datasets, model outputs, or inference consistency
- Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking about integrating AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to optimize performance across the stack
- Familiarity with modern development tools (IDEs, debuggers, profilers, source control, Unix-based systems)
