Salary: USD 230,000 - 240,000 / annual

Maybern is building an operating system for private fund management, combining deterministic guardrails with agentic workflows to help fund managers streamline capital raising, accounting, investor reporting, and compliance. The private funds market manages $15T in capital and is growing at 20% YoY, but fund CFOs lack modern, fully agentic solutions to manage operations effectively. In this Senior Software Engineer role, you will design and develop scalable, high-performance financial software solutions across the full investment lifecycle. You'll lead full product lifecycles from proof of concept through execution and delivery, working on backend services, user interfaces, third-party API integrations, and DevOps automation. Key responsibilities include: - Architect backend services and enhance user interfaces to support fund administration workflows - Design and implement company-wide ephemeral branch preview environments for scalable development and testing - Re-architect the core allocation primitive framework to improve scalability, reliability, and performance - Model complex customer operational workflows to unlock new use cases and accounts - Design data models that abstract financial systems and perform SOC-2 compliant financial data processing - Implement secure cloud networking, including network isolation and private cloud infrastructure - Drive best practices in code quality, testing, and DevOps automation - Collaborate with systems analysts, engineers, and programmers to define performance requirements You'll work with Terraform, Docker, PostgreSQL, LangChain, and modern cloud infrastructure. Maybern is NYC-based with a strong in-office culture emphasizing collaboration, backed by leading venture capital firms. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering Management, or closely related field - 5+ years of experience in software development, including financial services-focused development - Demonstrated experience designing data models that abstract financial systems - Experience performing SOC-2 compliant financial data processing - Proficiency with Terraform, Docker, PostgreSQL, and LangChain - Experience implementing internet and cloud networking, including network isolation and private cloud infrastructure design - Proven track record leading full product lifecycle for projects from proof of concept to execution and delivery
