Salary: USD 160,000 - 190,000 / annual

You will join as a Senior Software Engineer reporting to an Engineering Manager, responsible for end-to-end feature delivery on the Huntress Core Platform. This foundational layer powers the entire product suite, including notification systems, onboarding and activation, authentication, user experience, and APIs. You will own complex projects from design through release, holding high standards for code quality and maintainability while working across the full stack.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own and drive projects from conception through engineering design, coding, testing, and rollout
- Work efficiently across frontend, backend, database, and infrastructure layers to deliver functional, secure, and scalable solutions
- Break down complex work into actionable milestones and stories for team execution
- Maintain high bars for code quality, scalability, and maintainability through automated testing, code reviews, and pair programming
- Propose team-level technical solutions and actively contribute to new innovations
- Mentor, coach, and provide actionable feedback to help level up your team

REQUIREMENTS:
- 8+ years developing complex, scalable software products
- 5+ years expertise in Ruby on Rails with focus on maintainable, efficient code
- Full-stack development proficiency: JavaScript, CSS, and modern Rails frontend frameworks (Stimulus, Turbo, Hotwire)
- Strong background in Linux-based infrastructure, databases (Postgres, Clickhouse, etc.), and external API integration
- Demonstrated ability to break down epics into actionable milestones and stories
- Collaborative mindset with Agile environment experience, pairing, and mentoring
- Proactive approach to AI-assisted development tools
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent professional experience
Helpful but not required: AWS Cloud experience, Ruby on Rails monolith experience, platform capability building passion, Tailwind UI familiarity.
