Built's platform processes 10% of all U.S. construction spend and serves as the critical link between lenders and borrowers in the construction lending industry.
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Argentina-based team working on the lending side of Built's platform. This is a technical leadership role where you will deliver complex end-to-end solutions involving multiple components and teams, address ambiguity, and drive initiatives aligned with team OKRs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering complex end-to-end solutions addressing ambiguity and driving team initiatives
- Assessing technical solutions to ensure alignment with product strategy and providing recommendations on priorities and trade-offs
- Leading large-scale refactors and system upgrades, estimating scope and proactively managing risks
- Expanding into architectural and systems thinking, documenting system structures for cross-team understanding
- Serving as a technical leader and mentor, enabling team growth through delegation and fostering collaboration
- Driving cross-functional collaboration to deliver impactful business outcomes
The tech stack includes Node.js, GraphQL, React, Redux, Kubernetes, Terraform, Nest.JS with TypeScript, Python frameworks (Django, FastAPI, Flask), DynamoDB, MySQL, AWS, Docker, and GitHub.
Note: Employees not based in the Nashville area are required to travel to Nashville at least twice per year for company gatherings and Connect Week. Additional travel may be required based on role and business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Proven experience in core backend engineering, including scalable APIs, service design, and database modeling
- Expertise in database design and performance optimization with both relational and non-relational databases
- Knowledge of computer science fundamentals: object-oriented design, algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis
- Proven experience designing and deploying systems using AWS services in production environments
- Track record of success enabling engineering teams and business outcomes
Preferred:
- Experience building customer-facing React applications, ideally with TypeScript
- Experience building production backend APIs supporting customer-facing features
- Full-stack development experience; mastery of front-end with desire to achieve full-stack competency is acceptable
- Passion for building quality, testable code with automation and habit of improving codebase quality
- "Player-coach" mentality: strong technical contributions while mentoring others in small cross-functional teams
- Excellent troubleshooting skills within websites, application servers, networks, and databases
- Strong focus on both internal and external customers
- High ownership and accountability of delivery and work product
- Experience with refactoring initiatives or contributing to legacy codebases
- Experience working in growing companies, startups, or growth-stage organizations
