Cyberhaven is building a data security platform for the agentic enterprise, protecting sensitive data as it flows through AI/LLM applications and GenAI tools. The company is backed by $250M from investors including Khosla and Redpoint, with leadership from CrowdStrike, Palo Alto Networks, Meta, and Google.
You will join as a Senior Backend Software Engineer on a new, rapidly evolving product area. Your responsibilities include:
- Design, extend, and optimize large-scale, highly scalable, fault-tolerant backend systems processing billions of events from hundreds of thousands of endpoints in real time with sub-second latency requirements.
- Build security capabilities that protect sensitive customer data flowing into and out of LLMs, GenAI applications, AI tools, and agents.
- Contribute to the architecture and evolution of Cyberhaven's AI Security platform.
- Solve real-world scaling and distributed systems problems through performance analysis, profiling, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Build and ship production backend services using Go (Golang).
- Work with a modern microservices-based stack including Go, Kubernetes, BigTable, BigQuery, Spanner, Redis, Docker, and Etcd.
- Build integrations and connectors at the API level with SaaS and AI platforms commonly used in enterprises.
- Write secure-by-design, hardened software that can withstand real-world attacks while processing untrusted data and communicating with hundreds of thousands of endpoints over the internet.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, product teams, and distributed teams across India, Europe, and the US.
You will be an early contributor with meaningful input into architecture, working on complex backend and security challenges at significant scale.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4+ years of software engineering experience with a strong track record of building backend systems actively used at scale.
- Strong hands-on experience with Go (Golang); must have built and shipped production backend services using Go.
- Experience building and operating distributed systems, microservices, and Kubernetes-based applications in production.
- Experience working with databases at significant scale; GCP services (BigTable, BigQuery, Spanner) experience is a plus.
- Experience profiling, troubleshooting, and optimizing distributed applications using large databases, event streams, or streaming platforms.
- API-level integration or connector experience with enterprise SaaS applications is a plus; AI/LLM platform experience is especially relevant.
- Understanding of reliability, performance, and security when building systems processing large volumes of sensitive or untrusted data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; comfortable collaborating frequently with distributed teams in Europe and the US.
- Thrive in fast-paced environments; enjoy tackling ambiguous technical challenges and shipping with velocity.
- Customer-centric mindset; value direct feedback from customers.
- Must be based in Bangalore.
