Traba is building an AI operating system for the industrial supply chain, helping warehouses, manufacturers, logistics providers, and workers automate operations. The company started as a staffing platform and has evolved into an AI-driven platform that automates manual workflows, derives insights from data streams, and transforms decision intelligence for industrial businesses. Backed by Founders Fund, Khosla Ventures, and General Catalyst, Traba is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join as a founding member of the Agents team.
In this role, you will build the AI agents themselves—the harnesses, evals, orchestration, and model strategy that power Traba's product. You'll design and ship production agent systems on frontier LLMs, embed deeply with customers to understand supply chain operations, and turn field learnings into durable product. You'll partner closely with the CTO, product, and operators to take 0-to-1 ideas to scaled deployments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Embedding with customers and operators to understand supply chain workflows and designing agents that automate meaningful work
- Building production agent systems using tool use, sub-agents, retrieval, structured outputs, MCP servers, and orchestration patterns
- Owning evaluation as a first-class discipline with datasets from real traces, rubrics, graders, and measurable improvements
- Architecting data, services, and APIs that integrate internal systems with customers' WMS, TMS, and ERP environments
- Codifying repeatable deployment patterns to accelerate customer rollouts
You should be a builder with an AI operator's instinct who has shipped real product on top of LLMs (not just chat wrappers). You enjoy learning industry vocabularies and edge cases, thrive in ambiguous environments, and move fluidly between prompt iteration, eval design, backend services, and customer-facing UI. You communicate exceptionally well both in writing and verbally.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with 1+ year shipping LLM- or agent-based features into production
- Strong proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js
- Comfortable designing APIs, distributed systems, and data models in PostgreSQL
- Hands-on experience with the modern agent stack: production-scale prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, orchestration patterns, and frontier model APIs
- Track record of building in fast, ambiguous environments (ideally at a vertical AI, AI-agent, forward-deployed, or data-product company)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
