Relativity Space is building rockets and advanced manufacturing systems. Awerx, a new startup business unit within Relativity, is developing agentic CAD and operations tools for aerospace applications. The team recently launched the first agentically engineered liquid-fueled rockets and is expanding its agentic tooling to support additional use cases and customers.
You will own the architecture of a shared core 3D engine that supports multiple customer-specific products. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on stewarding a critical platform that multiple teams depend on. Your responsibilities include:
- Owning the architecture of a shared core 3D engine supporting multiple customer-specific products
- Supporting teams bringing agentic designs into reality
- Translating product requirements into scalable architecture as the product line grows
- Working with an agentic-first team across agent swarms and human-agent communication interfaces
- Reviewing and steering work produced by AI agents
- Owning the customer-facing side of product engineering and integrated enhancements while maintaining mission-critical agentic capabilities
This role sits at the intersection of 3D graphics, CAD systems, AI agent orchestration, and aerospace engineering. You'll work in a fast-moving environment where autonomy and ownership are valued at every level, and your technical decisions directly impact the company's ability to scale agentic engineering across multiple products.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience in software architecture, ideally on multi-platform products (game engines, CAD tools, or similar)
- Experience running agents at home (beyond Claude Code) and comfortable using agentic coding tools day-to-day with good judgment on agent outputs
- Comfortable working across several coding languages with deep experience in one or two
- Experience working across products or teams with demonstrated ability to learn entirely new domains and technologies
NICE TO HAVE:
- Hands-on experience developing with CAD systems (SolidWorks, Teamcenter, NX, plugin development)
- GPU/CUDA programming and tuning experience
- Experience shipping and maintaining software for multiple architectures with feature parity and reliability
- Mechanical engineering background or experience building real things with CAD/3D printers
