Aiven is a global cloud data platform company with over 400 employees, providing open-source databases, search, streaming, and application infrastructure on a multi-cloud foundation. The Agent Studio team sits at the center of Aiven's expansion into agentic AI, building the platform and tooling that enable AI agents and developers to work with data on Aiven's infrastructure.
In this role, you will be a full-stack engineer designing and building AI and agentic products end-to-end. You'll join a small, senior team that owns work from conception through production. The tech stack includes Python and TypeScript for backend services, frontier LLMs for agent runtimes, and React with TypeScript for frontend, all built on Aiven's data platform.
Key responsibilities include:
- Writing high-quality, maintainable code and shipping quality features
- Contributing to technical planning and backlog management
- Investigating and resolving customer issues
- Mentoring and empowering other engineers on the team

REQUIREMENTS:
Must-have:
- Excellent development skills in Python, TypeScript, and React
- Excellent understanding of agentic AI systems
- Ability to independently solve challenges, break down tasks, and drive toward desired outcomes
- Ability to write good automated tests
- Experience using Linux in development
- Fluency in English (verbal and written)
- Deep, daily use of AI agents in your own development workflow—going beyond Cursor or Claude Code as autocomplete to build custom MCP servers, skills, custom tools, and automated agent workflows to multiply your output

- Distributed systems knowledge
