Salary: CAD 166,000 - 195,000 / annual
Robinhood is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join the Developer Experience (DevX) team in Toronto. The DevX team's mission is to build and operate the core developer infrastructure that thousands of engineers rely on daily, partnering across the company to make development fast, reliable, and cost-efficient.
In this role, you will focus on building and scaling developer infrastructure with direct impact across the entire engineering organization. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and optimizing monorepo builds using Bazel and owning the remote build execution cluster that powers them, ensuring fast, stable builds and short feedback loops for engineering teams.
- Scaling CI pipelines to support thousands of daily builds, focusing on speed, safety, and reliability. You will manage GitHub repository configurations, pre-merge checks, and test executions.
- Improving the developer onboarding experience by reducing time-to-first-commit and making it easy for new engineers to get productive quickly.
- Providing and maintaining remote development environments to accelerate local workflows, ensuring developers can code, test, and deploy with minimal friction.
This is a hybrid role based in the Toronto office with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week. Robinhood emphasizes the value of in-person work for accelerating progress, sparking innovation, and strengthening community.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience building and maintaining developer infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, or large-scale build systems (such as Bazel).
- Proficiency in writing clean, maintainable code in Go or Python.
- Experience with distributed or remote build execution systems, and solid understanding of containerization and orchestration using Kubernetes.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on improving developer productivity, onboarding, and engineering workflows.
