Northwood Space is a modern space infrastructure company building a global network of phased array ground stations to enable real-time, reliable communication for satellite missions including national security, global connectivity, and disaster response. The company designs, builds, and rapidly deploys scalable systems with a vertically integrated approach. As Senior Site Engineer, you will lead the deployment and operations of Northwood's worldwide ground station network. This is a hands-on role requiring a builder's mindset and proven track record delivering large projects on aggressive timelines. You will be based at the Los Angeles headquarters with frequent domestic and international travel to deployment sites. Key responsibilities include: - Deploying antennas, power systems, racks, and infrastructure at ground stations globally, leading from the field - Identifying and acquiring optimal ground station locations, balancing system performance, deployment speed, and cost - Designing site architecture, hardware, and processes to optimize deployment velocity and cost efficiency - Overseeing live operations, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting issues to maintain peak station performance - Collaborating with internal teams, contractors, logistics providers, and network partners to coordinate complex deployments You will serve as Northwood's jack-of-all-trades, working side-by-side with diverse internal and external teams. The role requires comfort with ambiguity, strong project management discipline, and the ability to communicate clearly across technical and non-technical stakeholders while managing complex schedules and deadlines. Required qualifications: 5+ years relevant experience, Bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil, electrical, or related engineering discipline, willingness to travel extensively to domestic and international sites. Preferred qualifications include: cross-disciplinary engineering capability, demonstrated success executing large projects on tight timelines, construction or facilities experience, hands-on field proficiency with basic tools, experience reviewing system telemetry in operations environments, dashboard and database tools (Grafana, SQL), and non-English language proficiency.
