Salary: USD 110,000 - 135,000 / annual
Flywire is seeking a Senior Security Technical Program Manager to drive the planning, execution, and delivery of security initiatives across the organization. This role bridges security expertise with program management, requiring collaboration across product, engineering, SRE, and QA teams to embed security throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert on application security, providing guidance to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Lead development and implementation of application security programs to protect software assets and mitigate risks
- Work with product and engineering to define program scope, priorities, and success criteria
- Integrate security best practices throughout the SDLC, including secure-by-design principles
- Coordinate vulnerability remediation efforts across engineering teams
- Define and report on security compliance metrics and development lifecycle progress
- Oversee security assessments, audits, and compliance activities (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS)
- Manage threat and vulnerability management, secret management, and third-party security programs
- Drive continuous improvement of security processes through automation and technology
- Represent user interests in security designs and gather feedback for strategic planning
- Manage relationships with external security vendors and consultants
- Mentor junior application security team members
- Establish strong stakeholder relationships to communicate and drive the security roadmap

Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field
- 6+ years of experience in technical program management, ideally with security focus
- Strong technical background in security and experience with security by design and Secure-SDLC
- Excellent project management skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to communicate effectively with both engineers and executives
- Experience collaborating across time zones and functions; willingness to travel as needed
- Ability to influence and motivate individuals across diverse roles and functions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in high-pressure scenarios
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated resilience and ability to work independently
