Moveworks (part of ServiceNow) is seeking a Senior Security Software Engineer to lead identity and access management (IAM) initiatives. You will be a hands-on technical developer responsible for coding, designing, building, and scaling IAM solutions across cloud infrastructure, SaaS applications, and internal systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop robust access models and solutions using AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Teleport, and Terraform
- Drive IAM projects end-to-end: from understanding ambiguous access challenges to architecting secure, automated solutions and operationalizing them in production
- Design and implement role-based access control improvements to reduce privilege sprawl and create scalable "safe baseline" access patterns
- Build observability into access management through logging, metrics, and SIEM integration; develop repeatable reporting that surfaces risky access and drift
- Develop and operationalize user access review (UAR) processes that meet compliance requirements while minimizing approver burden through automation and clear decision support
- Identify high-risk permissions and misuse paths; propose and drive adoption of appropriate controls and mitigations
- Distinguish meaningful IAM risk from noise, gather context efficiently, and escalate with actionable recommendations
- Document and standardize IAM procedures, runbooks, and automation to ensure consistency and reduce tribal knowledge dependency
You will work closely with engineering teams to drive adoption of secure-by-default patterns, directly protecting Moveworks' most critical systems while enabling engineers to move fast, safely, and confidently.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience developing and maintaining IAM products or tools
- Strong production-ready software development skills with Infrastructure as Code experience; proficiency with AI coding tools for building reliable automation
- Deep IAM expertise including best practices, common failure modes (least privilege, privilege escalation paths, separation of duties, breakglass, auditability), and ability to identify dangerous permissions and suitable mitigations
- BS or higher in computer science or related field, or equivalent relevant experience
- US citizenship preferred
