Relativity Space is building advanced rockets, including the Terran R vehicle, to deliver payloads to orbit. The company uses innovative 3D printing technology in rocket manufacturing and is at a pivotal moment—early enough to shape the product and culture, but far enough along that the vehicle is tangible and gaining momentum.
The Launch team operates at the intersection of all major aspects of Terran R operations, from stages and payloads to ground systems, launch, landing, and refurbishment. Based at Cape Canaveral, this team sees the full integration of the program and manages the operational execution of transporting critical flight hardware—first and second stages—across the country and via waterway.
As Senior Rocket Transport Specialist, you will lead large-scale transport project management, including route planning, equipment selection, permitting, and execution oversight. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams in vehicle design and operations to define requirements, develop solutions, and ensure regulatory compliance throughout all transport phases. You'll oversee planning, fabrication, and construction of essential assets for transportation and operational phases, and build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
You bring 5+ years of hands-on experience in heavy haul equipment, heavy transport logistics, route planning, or multi-modal logistics. This is not a driver role; the ideal candidate has demonstrated expertise in transport project management, field execution coordination, and heavy logistics planning. You're an effective team collaborator with strong verbal and written communication skills. You're willing to work flexible hours including nights and weekends based on operational needs, work in outdoor environments including extended periods offshore on vessels or during overland travel, and travel to other company sites for cross-functional collaboration.
Nice-to-have experience includes operating or working with heavy machinery movers such as Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMTs), multi-axle trailers, or similar equipment, and supporting offshore operations, vessel-based logistics, or marine asset development.
Successful candidates must clear a US government background check to obtain clearance for on-site work at Cape Canaveral.
