CesiumAstro develops advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. We are seeking a Senior RF Test Engineer to join our dynamic, cross-functional team in Austin, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing engineering test plans and procedures for critical satellite, spacecraft, and aerospace communication systems. You will architect RF test systems, develop test requirements, and map them to reusable test architectures and procedures. Your day-to-day work includes collaborating with design and test engineering teams, implementing test plans, logging and presenting results to stakeholders, and managing lab equipment and guiding purchase decisions. As a senior-level engineer, you will be distinguished by your ability to architect RF test systems, draw insightful conclusions from test results, and participate in "design for test" planning from early product development stages. You will be a core member of the Cesium technical team, presenting engineering design review materials to customers and the executive team, and participating in proposal-writing efforts. The ideal candidate combines strong hardware and software knowledge with proficiencies in RF measurements, test equipment (VSAs, VSGs, VNAs, etc.), test architectures, and automation. Experience with phased array testing is preferred. You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable working in a startup environment. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor of Science (BS) or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited university - Minimum 5 years of experience with a BS (or 4 years with a master's degree) in design, analysis, and implementation of RF test systems - High proficiency with RF measurements (Linearity, NSD, EVM, etc.) - Test architecture design and development including scripting, test executives, hardware, and measurement abstraction layers - Proficiency with statistics and metrology as related to RF test design - Hands-on experience with lab instruments such as digital oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, and vector signal analyzers - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - U.S. citizenship or eligible status per ITAR regulations (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, conditional resident, asylee, or refugee) PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: - Familiarity or hands-on experience with phased array testing - Programming or scripting experience (Python, MATLAB, C/C++, etc.) - Understanding of RF and mixed-signal hardware (amplifiers, filters, ADCs/DACs, antennas) and its effects on test design
