Salary: USD 125,000 - 150,000 / annual

Ursa Major Technologies is seeking a Senior Propulsion Engineer, Tanks to lead the technical definition, integration, and execution of propulsion systems and take complete ownership of tank architecture from ideation through qualification. The company designs and delivers propulsion and defense systems for hypersonic vehicles, solid rocket motors, satellite maneuvering, and launch applications serving critical national security demands. In this role, you will own the complete tank architecture lifecycle, including clean sheet design of fluid and mechanical tank systems. You will support rapid development cycles with hands-on involvement in testing, data analysis, and hardware work. Key responsibilities include collaborating with manufacturing, analysis, and test teams to optimize performance and reduce part-to-part variation; assembling and testing first article prototypes; leading propulsion subsystem architecture and requirements definition for hypersonic vehicles; owning trades, performance margins, and integration decisions; and serving as the technical authority for tanks with interfaces to vehicle structures, thermal, and mission engineering. You will collaborate closely with vehicle and systems engineers to ensure mission and performance alignment, support ground test and flight test planning and execution with post-test data analysis, identify system risks and drive mitigation strategies across design, manufacturing, and test phases, and provide technical leadership and mentorship to early- and mid-career engineers. You will also support customer technical reviews, design reviews, and technical interchange meetings. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline - 8+ years of propulsion systems engineering experience - Deep experience with propulsion tank design, fluid systems, and mechanical integration - Strong systems thinking and ability to drive technical decisions in fast-paced, hardware-centric programs - 3+ years of PTC Creo or Siemens NX CAD programs and Windchill PLM software - Prior experience serving as a technical lead or subsystem owner - Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident) - Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance
