Planet is seeking a Senior Program Manager for Professional Services focused on Defense and Intelligence customers. This role leads a team of Solutions Architects, Deployment Strategists, and Software Engineers delivering geospatial and remote sensing solutions to government and defense sector clients globally.
You will manage the strategy and execution of multiple projects and workstreams on 6-12 month horizons, providing technical oversight and ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery. Key responsibilities include guiding customer adoption of Planet's satellite imaging platform, writing technical specifications, identifying and mitigating risks, and leading complex program delivery for national security applications.
The role requires deep expertise in geospatial technologies and remote sensing, with a track record of delivering high-impact solutions to defense and intelligence agencies. You'll work across Engineering, Product, and Design teams to translate company goals into executable team plans, while fostering career development and building a diverse, high-performing organization.
This is a hybrid position based in Haarlem (with flexibility to work from Berlin or London offices), requiring 3 days per week on-site. You'll work independently and collaboratively with global teams, managing sensitive, complex situations while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships at all organizational levels.
Required: 6+ years relevant experience, 4+ years supervisory/leadership experience, degree in GIS/Computer Science/Remote Sensing or related field, direct experience delivering geospatial solutions for Defense and Intelligence, and proven track record managing complex programs for government agencies.
