Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Program Manager for Advanced RF Systems to lead the technical roadmap and strategic execution of next-generation RF payloads, transponders, SAR, and communications systems. Based at Rocket Lab's Long Beach headquarters, you will own the complete lifecycle from prototype through flight qualification and high-rate production, serving as the program authority and primary point of contact for National Security, civil, and commercial customers. Key responsibilities include: commanding the full lifecycle of RF systems from concept through production; leading multiple concurrent programs and making architectural decisions with Chief Engineers; building and developing a high-performing team culture that encourages smart risk-taking; managing strategic subcontracts and suppliers; synchronizing cross-functional hardware, software, and spectrum teams; and partnering with Business Development on proposals and technical strategy. You will navigate complex trade-offs in phased arrays, digital signal processing, and manufacturing scale-up, personally diving into program-threatening technical problems. The role requires deep ownership: you are the person the program runs on, responsible for identifying and neutralizing technical, schedule, and supply-chain risks before they impact mission success. Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in physics, math, science, or technical discipline; 5+ years of program management experience with demonstrated track record of owning technical programs end-to-end; proven ability to move real hardware and software from prototype to flight-ready production; understanding of transponders, SAR, or advanced communication systems; experience identifying and mitigating technical and supply-chain risk; and active TS/SCI security clearance. Desirable experience includes: proven playbook for transitioning prototypes to high-rate production; deep National Security Space or commercial telecommunications constellation experience; success capturing and executing large U.S. Government or commercial contracts; Master's degree in Engineering; and systems/toolchain fluency.
