Salary: USD 175,000 - 208,000 / annual

Muon Space, a LEO satellite constellation provider founded in 2021, seeks a Senior Program Manager for Commercial Payloads to lead program execution and delivery of satellite-based solutions. You will manage cost, schedule, and technical baselines for contracts with U.S. Government and commercial customers, serving as a key member of the Mission Engineering team. Key responsibilities include leading multidisciplinary aerospace development efforts, engaging internal and external stakeholders to coordinate resources, synchronizing diverse technical teams through tools and processes, participating in technical discussions to resolve scoping and scheduling issues, tracking program metrics (schedule, resource, cost, risk, technical performance), and serving as the company face to customers, subcontractors, and suppliers. You will support business development through proposal writing, RFI responses, customer engagement, and organic growth on existing contracts. Success requires delivering high-quality products and solutions on time and on budget while meeting contractual obligations. Required qualifications: 5+ years program management experience, B.S. in engineering (M.S./Ph.D. preferred), proven track record delivering complete systems (hardware, firmware, software, algorithms) on schedule and to scope, experience developing or managing satellite-based systems with integrated master schedule capability, expertise in cloud-based productivity tools, strong analytical and interpersonal skills across engineering disciplines, and vendor/contract management experience. Nice-to-have skills include systems engineering, technical trade study experience, scripting languages (Python, Julia), database queries (SQL, BigQuery), startup environment experience, and team management experience. The role is hybrid (3 days/week in-office) based in San Jose, CA.
