Muon Space, a LEO satellite constellation provider founded in 2021, is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead classified space programs for U.S. Government national security customers. This is a high-autonomy, end-to-end program leadership role spanning concept development, design, integration, launch, and on-orbit operations under formal government contract structures.
As the single accountable owner, you will drive cost, schedule, and technical performance across the full mission lifecycle. You will serve as the primary programmatic and technical interface to Government customer teams, leading technical exchanges at multiple classification levels and converting customer input into actionable program direction. Key responsibilities include owning the integrated master schedule, cost baseline, and risk register; planning and executing formal program events (initiation reviews, in-process reviews, milestone reviews); maintaining tight cost and schedule discipline; and delivering all contract data deliverables (CDRLs) on time and to specification.
You will direct a cross-functional team spanning systems engineering, payload, flight software, ground processing, and mission operations. This includes driving design trades to closure, escalating decisions crisply when they stall, and partnering with mission operations without disrupting existing missions. Security and compliance are core: you will execute the program in full compliance with government security requirements, handle controlled and classified information, enforce strict public-release restrictions, and ensure ITAR/EAR export control and U.S.-only performance compliance.
Required: 8+ years of program management on complex aerospace or defense development programs with direct ownership of cost, schedule, and technical baselines. Active U.S. Top Secret/SCI clearance (or current Top Secret with recent SCI eligibility). U.S. citizenship (ITAR-restricted). Proven experience executing U.S. Government contracts, working in classified environments, and domain expertise with remote sensing systems (EO/IR, RF, or both) at payload or mission level.
