Salary: USD 134,640 - 247,005 / annual
Divergent 3D is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead aerospace and defense (A&D) initiatives as one of the early hires in this division. The role focuses on deploying Divergent's advanced manufacturing and engineering platform (DAPS™) on new and legacy defense programs, with particular emphasis on aerial defense systems such as unmanned aerial systems and missiles.
Key responsibilities include managing all aspects of A&D programs from inception through completion, ensuring on-time delivery within cost, schedule, and performance requirements. The role involves leading cross-functional teams of engineers, manufacturers, and customer personnel, providing strategic technical guidance and programmatic oversight. You will set analysis frameworks with internal and customer teams to characterize technical, programmatic, and risk trades.
The position requires building and utilizing program management tools, systems, and templates for proposals, statements of work, and performance tracking. You will monitor program performance against established metrics and milestones, implementing corrective actions as needed. The role includes formulating program strategy across a customer portfolio, identifying development opportunities, technology risks, and strategic partnerships. Relationship building with defense primes, subcontractors, and DoD stakeholders is critical to facilitate program success and identify new contracting opportunities.
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with minimum 10 years of aerospace and defense program management experience. Strong technical background in aerospace structures, including FEA familiarity, is essential. Candidates must have knowledge of additive manufacturing and robotic assembly systems, experience with DoD acquisition cycles and FAR, and demonstrated expertise in airworthiness certifications and fast-iteration hardware prototyping. Active Secret Clearance is desired; Top Secret preferred. Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree, prior technical leadership roles (Chief Engineer, IPT Lead), and PMP certification.
