Rocket Lab Robotics, based in Pasadena, CA, is seeking a Senior Production Planner to manage work order execution and production planning for advanced robotic and electromechanical hardware systems. This role sits at the intersection of manufacturing engineering, quality, production, supply chain, and project management—ensuring production teams have clear priorities, necessary materials, and unblocked workflows.
Key responsibilities include: managing supply and fulfillment planning within MRP systems for robotics and electromechanical work orders; releasing work orders to production and kit requests to inventory; creating visibility into material position through line-of-balance reports, shortage reports, and clear-to-build assessments; supporting prioritization and expediting of subassemblies for integration timelines; understanding material demand and configuration accuracy for both production and engineering development hardware; coordinating incoming inspections and hardware receipt processing; and collaborating cross-functionally to achieve company-wide goals.
You'll need 5+ years of production planning experience plus a Bachelor's degree (or 9+ years total work experience without degree). Required skills include proven ability to conduct build reviews and expedite materials, knowledge of production planning fundamentals (master data management, batch processing, issue disposition), and proficiency in MS Office and ERP/MRP systems.
Preferred qualifications include experience in robotics, aerospace, EV automotive, or high-reliability manufacturing; background in rapid-growth or new product introduction environments; ability to read engineering drawings and BOMs; and strong organizational and problem-solving skills. The role involves occasional exposure to production environments (noise, dust, fumes) and prolonged computer work.
