CesiumAstro develops advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. We are seeking a Senior Production Planner to support manufacturing operations and drive operational excellence.
In this role, you will develop and maintain production plans that align manufacturing capacity, material availability, and customer demand. You will evaluate production trends, identify planning constraints, and recommend solutions to improve schedule stability and operational efficiency. Working cross-functionally with supply chain, operations, manufacturing, engineering, quality, program management, and finance, you will coordinate production planning activities and ensure alignment with manufacturing objectives and business priorities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead development and maintenance of production plans supporting manufacturing schedules and customer commitments
- Evaluate production demand, material availability, manufacturing capacity, and inventory levels to develop optimized production schedules
- Identify planning constraints and production risks; recommend solutions to improve schedule stability and efficiency
- Maintain production planning data, parameters, and scheduling information in ERP and production planning systems
- Develop production reports, schedule updates, capacity analyses, operational metrics, forecasts, and planning dashboards
- Evaluate production performance and manufacturing constraints to identify efficiency improvements
- Support production planning reviews with schedule analyses, status updates, and recommendations to stakeholders
- Partner cross-functionally to align production priorities with operational objectives
- Communicate schedule changes, material constraints, manufacturing impacts, and recovery strategies
- Coordinate planning activities aligning production schedules, material availability, and customer commitments
- Drive implementation of production planning process improvements and operational initiatives
- Support compliance with production planning processes, inventory policies, and operational procedures
- Evaluate planning methodologies and recommend improvements to strengthen accuracy and performance
- Contribute to continuous improvement of production planning and manufacturing operations

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or related field with 5–8 years of related experience; OR Master's degree with 3–6 years of related experience in production planning, manufacturing planning, supply chain, operations, manufacturing, or related discipline
- Strong knowledge of production planning, production scheduling, manufacturing operations, and supply chain planning principles
- In-depth understanding of production planning methodologies, manufacturing workflows, capacity requirements, and material availability
- Proficiency in evaluating work orders, production schedules, bills of materials (BOMs), routings, lead times, and manufacturing resource requirements
- Experience analyzing production schedules, work order status, material availability, work center capacity, and schedule dependencies to identify constraints and planning risks
- Thorough understanding of capacity planning, work center loading, schedule sequencing, inventory availability, and production priorities
- Sound judgment in evaluating schedule adherence, backlog, work-in-process (WIP), throughput, capacity constraints, and production requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, or equivalent
- Experience with production planning and scheduling systems such as Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS), Oracle Planning, SAP PP, or equivalent
- Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent
