Divergent 3D is seeking a Senior Product Reliability Engineer to join their manufacturing and engineering platform serving automotive OEMs and aerospace/defense companies. This role is central to ensuring product quality and reliability across high-precision manufacturing operations.
Key responsibilities include leading process improvement initiatives to reduce defects and enhance efficiency by analyzing quality and production data for trends and root causes. You will implement robust process controls, standardize inspection procedures, and improve first-pass yield. The role involves optimizing inspection strategies using advanced tools like CMM programming, establishing inspection criteria aligned with customer requirements, and ensuring inspection methods meet capability standards through Gage R&R and Cpk analyses.
You will serve as the quality liaison for customers, managing audits, addressing quality concerns, and ensuring timely issue resolution. This includes preparing and delivering required quality documentation such as PPAP and FAIR, facilitating customer reviews and audits, and collaborating to clarify quality requirements.
Responsibilities also encompass managing nonconformance activities including root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions, and Material Review Board processes. You will track and analyze nonconformance trends to drive targeted improvements and reduce defect recurrence.
Data analysis is critical: monitor KPIs such as yield, defect rates, and on-time delivery; develop dashboards and reports providing real-time visibility into quality performance; and share actionable insights with stakeholders. You will develop and implement scalable quality control plans, deploy new inspection technologies, and support process validation for new or modified manufacturing processes.
Cross-functional collaboration is essential. You will integrate quality requirements into product and process development, support new product introductions, mentor quality team members on best practices, and drive cross-functional problem-solving initiatives.
Required qualifications include demonstrated experience in quality initiatives focused on process improvement, defect reduction, and inspection optimization in manufacturing. Proficiency with PPAP, FMEA, and root cause analysis is essential. Knowledge of advanced inspection methods including CMM programming, Gage R&R, and sampling techniques is required. Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret data and identify trends, and proven cross-functional collaboration experience are critical. Clear communication and documentation skills are necessary. Ability to lawfully access US export-controlled information and technology is required.
Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related field) or equivalent experience.
