LiveKit is building infrastructure for the agentic era of computing, enabling developers to build, test, deploy, scale, and observe AI agents in production. The company powers voice and agentic AI applications for tens of thousands of developers, facilitating billions of calls annually across language tutors, customer support agents, healthcare intake, coaching software, in-game characters, and robotic systems.
You will be LiveKit's first Product Operations Manager, owning the systems and processes that connect and scale the product team as it grows from a small, senior group into a real organization. Your customers are the product managers and head of product, and your success is measured by making them faster and better at their work.
Key responsibilities include:
- Running the product team's operating cadence: designing and maintaining planning cycles, reviews, and recurring rituals; capturing decisions and follow-ups; retiring or reshaping meetings that no longer add value.
- Owning the roadmap as a system: structuring it at the right altitude for different audiences (engineering, leadership, sales); keeping it current and accessible.
- Making goals and progress visible: running goal-setting so every goal is measurable; tracking progress through the quarter; owning reporting for the product team and leadership; flagging drift early.
- Maintaining the product development playbook: establishing lightweight shared standards for problem framing, launch readiness, product stage definitions, and release notes; coordinating with marketing on launch execution.
- Running the customer insight engine: building a research repository, setting up continuous customer conversation pipelines with sales and success, synthesizing insights from multiple sources, and delivering them to relevant PMs.
- Growing PM craft: owning onboarding for new PMs, ongoing training, community of practice, and helping shape PM hiring and leveling.
- Choosing and running product tools: deciding how the team uses roadmapping, analytics, and AI tools; ensuring PMs get real leverage.
- Partnering with the head of product to continuously improve the product organization.
You thrive by seeing the people you support as customers and starting from their problems rather than frameworks. You prefer building systems from scratch over maintaining them, would rather remove meetings than add them, and write clearly to make complicated things legible. You're a fast learner who picks up new tools and techniques, including AI, and you measure success by what changed for the people you support, not by how much process exists.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 6+ years of experience, with at least 3 years in product operations or closely related roles (chief of staff to a product leader, product program management, product strategy and operations) supporting a product team.
- Proven track record of designing a product team's operating cadence from scratch at a scaling company, not just maintaining an existing one.
- Strong writing skills; most of this role's output is read by others (templates, updates, plans, documentation).
- Data fluency: comfortable defining metrics, working in BI tools, distinguishing trustworthy from untrustworthy numbers. SQL is a plus.
- Technical credibility for a developer company: you don't need to write code, but you must be credible with engineers. Understanding of developer tools, APIs, and infrastructure is valuable.
- Ability to influence without authority; you work through usefulness, not mandate.
- AI-native: you use AI tools heavily in your own work and can help others do the same.
NICE TO HAVE:
- Product operations experience at a developer tools, API, infrastructure, or AI company.
- Experience running quarterly planning or OKRs for a product organization.
- Built a research repository or customer recruiting program for B2B research.
- Built a PM onboarding program or career ladder.
- Worked with go-to-market teams on launch readiness and product stage definitions.
- Prior experience as a product manager.
