Preply is a unicorn edtech platform (Series D, $150M) that connects 100,000+ tutors teaching 90+ languages to learners in 180 countries. The company is expanding beyond language learning into non-language subjects (NLS), a new vertical that already represents a meaningful portion of the business.
As Senior Product Manager for Expansion, you will own the 0-to-1 product strategy and roadmap for non-language subjects, leading a startup-within-a-scaleup environment. You'll shape the end-to-end tutor and learner experience across the full funnel, from acquisition through retention, and define what Preply becomes as a multi-vertical platform.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute strategy for the NLS vertical, translating ambition into shipped product
- Partner closely with design, UX research, data science, and engineering to build the product
- Operate with high autonomy and visibility to leadership; act as internal champion for NLS
- Use qualitative and quantitative signals—experiments, user research, data—to validate bets and iterate
- Think beyond product surface to ecosystem impact (marketing, supply, partnerships)
- Prioritize competing opportunities and communicate reasoning clearly
- Define success metrics and use them to guide iteration and drive organizational learning
You'll work in a high-visibility, fast-moving environment where the roadmap will evolve continuously. The role requires influence-without-authority across supply, product, marketing, and leadership.
Preply offers a competitive package including equity, generous learning allowance on Preply, L&D budget, health insurance, mental health support, and wellness benefits. The company is based in Barcelona with a London office; relocation support is available.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Senior Product Management experience, ideally having scaled products from 0-to-10 and 10-to-100 in fast-evolving or ambiguous environments
- Comfort with evolving roadmaps and high-priority, young product bets (not mature, steady-state areas)
- Ability to think across full tutor-learner funnel, not just one product surface
- Strong influence-without-authority: ability to drive buy-in from supply, product, marketing, and leadership without formal control
- Growth mindset paired with craft: driven by data and revenue, but able to go deep on subjects, verticals, and underlying needs
- Marketplace experience, ideally having helped scale one from immature to mature
- Comfort with high visibility and direct communication with leadership
