The company offers integrated solutions for business accounts, payments, spend management, treasury, and embedded finance at global scale. Valued at $11 billion and backed by leading investors including Sequoia, Visa, and Mastercard, Airwallex operates across 27 offices with over 2,300 employees.
As Senior Product Manager for AI Risk & Merchant Onboarding, you will own the product strategy and roadmap for merchant onboarding and risk decisioning. You'll shape the first and most critical interactions businesses have with Airwallex, creating a fast, intelligent, and trusted onboarding experience that helps legitimate merchants get started quickly while proactively identifying and responding to fraud and risks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning product strategy and roadmap for merchant onboarding, risk decisioning, and merchant experiences
- Mapping and optimizing the end-to-end journey from discovery through sign-up, verification, activation, and adoption
- Building AI-powered capabilities to interpret merchant business context, surface relevant signals, and detect emerging risk patterns
- Partnering with Engineering, Data Science, and Risk teams to develop AI agents that identify compromised accounts, illegal activity, and suspicious behavior
- Turning AI-generated insights into real-time actions through fraud and risk models, including intelligent step-ups, reviews, restrictions, or approvals
- Designing risk experiences that protect Airwallex and customers while minimizing friction for legitimate merchants
- Developing intelligent payment-method recommendations balancing fraud risk, processing cost, conversion, and merchant experience
- Using data, analytics, and customer research to identify pain points, define success metrics, and prioritize opportunities
- Designing and running experiments including A/B tests to improve onboarding UX, verification outcomes, and conversion
- Establishing feedback loops between product performance, model outcomes, operational review, and merchant experience
- Communicating product strategy, trade-offs, and results to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Success is measured by: more legitimate merchants completing onboarding quickly and confidently; earlier risk signal identification with faster and more accurate real-time responses; reduced fraud and abuse without unnecessary friction or false positives; improved payment-method recommendations balancing risk, cost, conversion, and experience; and increasingly data-informed product decisions through experimentation and AI-powered insight.
You'll work on high-impact problems where better product decisions directly improve merchant growth while protecting the Airwallex ecosystem. The role sits at the intersection of onboarding, fraud prevention, payments, artificial intelligence, and merchant experience.
