Rain is a global stablecoin payments platform serving enterprises, neobanks, platforms, developers, and AI agents. The company enables partners to move, store, and use stablecoins instantly and compliantly through global payment cards, rewards, on/offramps, wallets, and cross-border rails. Rain is a Visa and Mastercard Principal Member, issuing cards accepted at 175+ million merchant locations across 220+ countries. The company closed a $250M Series C in January 2026 at a $1.95B valuation, backed by ICONIQ, Sapphire Ventures, Dragonfly, Bessemer Venture Partners, and others.
You will own Rain's Agent Control Layer—a 0-to-1 product defining how AI agents safely access spending power. This platform governs agent activity by enforcing approved counterparties, amounts, merchants, and task scope before transactions occur. You will own the developer-facing surface: APIs, SDKs, controls, and documentation that teams building agents use to provision spending safely.
Key responsibilities include:
• Define primitives for agent authority: spend scopes, merchant/counterparty allowlists, velocity ceilings, task-bound credentials, human-in-the-loop approvals, and revocation mechanisms.
• Own scoped virtual cards for agents—single-use cards provisioned for specific merchants, amounts, and tasks, retired upon completion.
• Extend Rain's stack (wallets, virtual accounts, onramps, offramps, cross-border payments) to agent initiators within customer-defined parameters.
• Treat the API as the product: own endpoint design, error semantics, idempotency, webhooks, sandbox/simulation tooling, SDKs, and reference agents.
• Own documentation and onboarding with product rigor; optimize time-to-first-authorized-agent-transaction.
• Run tight design-partner loops with agent builders—review integration code, participate in debugging, ship against findings.
• Build roadmap from first principles: form thesis on agentic commerce trajectory, sequence bets, kill what isn't working.
• Partner with risk and compliance on Know Your Agent: identity, attestation, delegated authority, auditability, and dispute handling.
• Represent Rain's technical perspective in Agentic Payments Alliance working groups and with Visa, Mastercard, and stablecoin partners.
• Write specs, launch posts, and positioning that educate the market on controlled agentic payments.
You will report to the Head of Product and collaborate daily with engineering, risk and compliance, network partnerships, and developers.
Requirements:
• 8+ years in product management with meaningful time on developer-facing platforms, APIs, or infrastructure products. Must have shipped something engineers chose to build on.
• Technical depth: read API diffs, write queries, prototype against endpoints, hold your own in architecture reviews. Not required to be an engineer, but engineers must take you seriously.
• 0-to-1 instincts: taken products from blank page to real usage in ambiguous markets; comfortable with roadmaps that shift as ground moves.
• Payments or fintech fluency, or demonstrated appetite to acquire it rapidly. Understanding of authorization flows, issuing, interchange, chargebacks, settlement, KYC/KYB—either existing knowledge or ability to learn in weeks, not quarters.
• Judgment under risk: can reason explicitly about tradeoffs between capability and loss, defend design decisions.
• Strong writing: specs, docs, and launch narratives are the job, not overhead.
• Bias for motion: prefer shipping narrow things monthly and learning over scoping broad initiatives for two quarters.
Bonus attributes:
• Hands-on experience building or deploying AI agents (tool use, orchestration frameworks, MCP, evals).
• Stablecoin or onchain payments background (settlement, custody, treasury operations, wallet infrastructure).
• Direct experience with card networks, issuing processors, or sponsor banks.
• Time at early-stage company during fast scaling.
