You will join a small, high-impact design team as a Senior Product Designer, owning problems end-to-end from ambiguous starting points through delivered solutions. Your work will be visible and impactful across the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
**Design Leadership & Execution**
- Lead end-to-end design processes from discovery to delivery across multiple product areas, planning your own work independently
- Contribute to and maintain the design system
- Promote best practices in quality, accessibility, and usability
- Lead AI tool adoption within the team: identify where AI automates routine work, assess tool fit with workflows, and bring colleagues along on the adoption journey
**Discovery & Problem Definition**
- Frame ambiguous requests into clear, well-defined problems; identify unknowns and drive open questions to resolution
- Explore and present multiple approaches before recommending a direction
- Revise your approach as new information emerges, without waiting for requirements to fully settle
**Stakeholder Ownership & Collaboration**
- Independently identify who needs to be involved in projects and at what stage; keep stakeholders engaged throughout
- Follow up to secure necessary input and agreement
- Communicate design rationale persuasively to technical, non-technical, and senior audiences, balancing user, business, and technical needs
**Domain Expertise & Team Contribution**
- Become a subject-matter expert in clinical research (a complex, regulated domain) through self-directed learning
- Bring that expertise into stakeholder discussions, design reviews, and planning sessions
- Mentor designers and colleagues on design best practices, leading by example
The role is hybrid, based in Dublin City Centre (near Pearse Station). Flexible start/end times are available.
**Requirements:**
- 6–8 years as a product designer, UX/UI designer, or similar role
- Strong portfolio of end-to-end web and mobile product design, covering discovery and definition (not solely final UI)
- Demonstrable experience leading discovery: defining problems, exploring multiple directions, aligning stakeholders on approach
- Experience working with and contributing to a design system
- Practical use of AI tools in design or product workflows to optimize and automate low-level work, plus appetite to lead team-wide adoption
- Proven ability to lead design in fast-paced, agile environments
- Strong grounding in interaction design, visual design, accessibility, and information architecture
**Nice to Have:**
- Experience in clinical research, life sciences, or another complex/regulated domain, OR evidence of building deep expertise in a complex domain through self-directed learning
- Experience presenting directly to executive stakeholders
- Mentorship experience
