Fivetran and dbt Labs have recently merged to create a unified data infrastructure company. As a Senior Product Analyst, you'll partner with product leaders to understand how customers adopt, use, and retain both the Fivetran data movement platform and dbt transformation tools. You'll work as a full-stack analyst—building data models, defining metrics, creating dashboards, running analyses, and translating findings into actionable recommendations that shape product strategy.
Your responsibilities include:
- Partner with product managers and product line leaders to deliver regular analysis on adoption, engagement, and retention metrics
- Proactively investigate user behavior trends and identify growth opportunities before they're requested
- Define, measure, and monitor KPIs that indicate product health and company trajectory
- Size the impact of new product initiatives and recommend prioritization
- Analyze product launches and experiments to inform next steps
- Identify and reduce friction in user funnels (signup, activation, adoption)
- Bridge product data with business data (revenue, sales, support)
- Build and maintain the data models, metrics, and dashboards supporting your work
- Help colleagues and partners understand and use data effectively
You'll work on a modern data stack using the tools you'll be analyzing: SQL (BigQuery/Snowflake), dbt, Looker, and AI-assisted analytics tools. This is a hybrid role based in Oakland with flexible remote options and no fixed office day requirements.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years in analytics, primarily product analytics, ideally at a high-growth B2B or SaaS company
- Advanced SQL proficiency; ability to turn raw data into clean, trustworthy datasets
- Comfort using AI tools in analytics workflows (exploration, SQL drafting, automation, synthesis) with ability to validate outputs
- Hands-on experience building data models (preferably dbt), creating dashboards in BI tools (Looker, Omni, Tableau), and performing funnel/cohort/segmentation analysis
- Track record of using analysis to drive product or business decisions, not just report on them
- Strong attention to detail, prioritization, and communication skills (written and verbal, including executive-level and technical explanations)
- Experience influencing cross-functional, distributed teams both asynchronously and in real time
BONUS SKILLS:
- Experience designing and analyzing experiments (A/B/n tests)
- Deep knowledge of SaaS customer lifecycle and metrics (ARR, retention, expansion)
- Experience defining product events and self-serve analytics in tools like Amplitude, Mixpanel, or Heap
- Experience developing and scaling large dbt projects
- Python or R for analysis
