As a Senior Data Engineer in the Financial Systems team, you will own the technical direction and implementation of the data platform powering Epidemic Sound's financial backbone. You'll lead integrations connecting the data platform to the broader business, architect modern data pipelines, and pioneer the adoption of agentic AI tooling in financial data engineering.
You will work across the entire Epidemic Group, enabling the core business and new acquisitions to maintain accurate records of sales and consumption data while supporting regulatory reporting requirements. This role sits at the intersection of technology and finance, where the systems and data pipelines you build directly impact how reliably the company ingests sales and settlement data, runs financial reporting, and scales infrastructure as it grows.
Key responsibilities:
- Own, maintain, configure, enhance, deploy, and document financial systems infrastructure, including custom code and integrations
- Explore, prototype, and measure new technology implementations; work with stakeholders to define systems requirements and stay current with industry trends
- Review, retrospect, and iterate based on experience; contribute to collective ownership and decision-making
- Implement automation to make processes repeatable, scalable, and secure
- Monitor systems and networks for issues and vulnerabilities; investigate security incidents per established protocols
Requirements:
- 5+ years of Data Engineering experience
- Experience with databases, including advanced query usage and DBT
- Experience with data processing frameworks and applications
- Expertise building scalable data applications and services in modern languages (Python, Go)
- Hands-on experience with GCP, particularly BigQuery and Cloud Composer/Airflow
- Hands-on experience with agentic development and ownership of AI-generated code quality
- Interest in working with financial data in a business environment
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with payments backends
- Experience with NetSuite/ERP systems and automation libraries
- Background in business intelligence or analytics
