Unlimited Industries is automating construction end-to-end to address infrastructure decay and workforce challenges by hyper-scaling development with technology. The company is building an AI-powered automated design engine that produces end construction design deliverables for large-scale capital projects such as natural gas power generation.
You will join as a Senior Process Engineer, bringing deep, hands-on process engineering expertise into the product. Your role is to pair years of plant design experience—including heat and material balances, process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), emissions control, and equipment sizing—with product development. You'll translate how an excellent process engineer thinks, checks, and makes judgment calls into capabilities within the automated design engine, leveraging AI to automate every step of the engineering design process.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role focused on execution rather than management. You will work in a fast-paced, high-performance environment with extreme ownership expectations. The company culture emphasizes first-principles thinking, challenging conventional approaches, ruthlessly prioritizing impact, and speaking to the technical minutiae of your work (calculations, edge cases, design review feedback).
The team is roughly 50% former founders, striving for technical excellence while keeping egos in check so the best ideas win. You'll be working on what the company frames as one of the most important problems: revolutionizing how humanity designs and builds infrastructure at scale.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Owned end-to-end process design of gas power plants, industrial plants, chemical production, polymer synthesis, or similar
- T-shaped technical excellence: broad understanding of how process connects to adjacent disciplines and trade-off implications, with deep expertise in 1–2 areas
- Evidence of strong first-principles thinking and challenging "this is how we've always done it" approaches
- Hands-on execution mindset; excitement to work in fast-paced, high-performance environment with extreme ownership
- Ability to prioritize impact by identifying and solving bottlenecks
- Significant hands-on process design experience at an engineering firm or owner; PE (Professional Engineer) preferred
BONUS:
- Utility-scale natural gas power generation plant design experience
- Experience building your own simulation, calculation, analysis software tools, or applications
- Experience with AI coding agent tools (Codex, Claude Code, etc.) for work or personal use
