As Senior PLM Engineer, you will own the complete Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Product Data Management (PDM) infrastructure. Your responsibilities include configuring and maintaining the CAD PDM system, defining file lifecycle workflows from work-in-progress through release, and establishing CAD best practices and templates across the engineering team.
You will work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and New Product Introduction (NPI) teams to define required CAD metadata and ensure proper access controls and permissions for all stakeholders. You own Bill of Materials (BOM) structure standards, driving production BOM releases in partnership with NPI and Design Engineering. You will establish and maintain drawing standards, title blocks, and revision blocks across the engineering organization.
Key responsibilities include managing the data handoff from PDM to ERP/MRP systems, configuring PDM/PLM workflows to support Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes, and supporting products through their full lifecycle from prototype through serial production and field deployment.
You should have 3+ years of PLM/PDM engineering experience in hardware companies, ideally in robotics, autonomous vehicles, automotive, or aerospace. Experience with Solidworks or other 3D CAD software is required. You must have hands-on experience configuring PDM/PLM systems such as Solidworks PDM, Windchill, Arena, or 3DX, with scripting and customization skills preferred. Strong understanding of BOM structures, engineering versus manufacturing BOMs, and ERP/MRP handoff is essential. Experience managing design data across mechanical and electrical domains is strongly preferred.
