Salary: USD 128,318 - 153,965 / annual
Babylist is hiring a Senior Planner to own day-to-day merchandise planning execution for the e-commerce business. You will manage Open-to-Buy and inventory planning at the department level, ensuring the right products are available to meet customer demand and business targets.
Key responsibilities include: owning Open-to-Buy for assigned departments while managing sales, inventory, margin, and turn targets; maintaining and updating forecasts in planning systems to stay aligned with trends and business needs; executing replenishment and order writing to ensure inventory flows match forecasts and capacity constraints; partnering with Merchandising on daily business decisions and assortment execution; leading vendor forecasting and planning meetings to review forecasts, flow, and risks; collaborating with Supply Chain on inbound timing and inventory flow; monitoring weekly sales and inventory performance to flag risks and opportunities; supporting pre-season planning with bottom-up forecasts; prioritizing high-volume and registered SKUs to maximize revenue and in-stock performance; and using data and AI tools to improve forecast accuracy and streamline execution.
You bring 6-8 years of inventory or merchandise planning experience, ideally in e-commerce or retail. You have owned Open-to-Buy at department or category level and are comfortable managing daily tradeoffs across sales, inventory, and margin. You are proficient in retail math, forecasting, and inventory planning concepts. You are an Excel power user who can analyze data, spot trends, and translate insights into clear actions. You understand vendor dynamics and are comfortable owning vendor forecasts and projections. You spend approximately 80% of your time working directly in planning systems. You are highly tactical and execution-focused, able to juggle multiple priorities. You communicate effectively with Merchandising and Supply Chain partners. You are adaptable, organized, and proactive, able to pivot quickly as the business changes. You thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments and naturally leverage AI tools to move faster and improve output.
This role offers real decision-making authority over sales, inventory, and margin for your departments—not a support seat. You will be hands-on with planning systems and see the direct impact of your forecasts on customer inventory. Babylist is growing rapidly, and planning is where that growth gets managed in real time. The planning function is adopting AI-enabled tools, so you will help shape how modern planning operates rather than executing legacy processes.
