Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company building energy-efficient compute solutions for AI workloads. The company owns and operates the full stack from power generation through cloud services, positioning itself at the intersection of energy and AI infrastructure. You will join as a Senior Performance Engineer, a hands-on technical role focused on optimizing Crusoe's global compute operations. This is not a management position—you will directly execute performance benchmarking, kernel optimization, and system tuning work. Key responsibilities include: - Designing and executing rigorous system performance benchmarks to identify bottlenecks and optimization opportunities - Developing low-level optimizations within the Linux kernel to maximize efficiency and throughput - Writing high-performance code in Go, C, C++, or Rust to drive infrastructure improvements - Tuning data plane performance to meet the demands of modern AI workloads - Collaborating with Software Infrastructure, Product, and other engineering teams on cross-functional performance initiatives - Troubleshooting complex system issues with an analytical, reliability-focused approach - Contributing to team documentation and best practices to foster technical excellence The role emphasizes hands-on technical depth rather than people management. You will work on performance-critical infrastructure at scale, directly impacting how Crusoe's customers run AI workloads. REQUIREMENTS: - Deep expertise in Linux system internals and kernel-level programming (essential) - Expert-level proficiency in Go, C, and C++ (Rust is a strong asset) - Proven track record of hands-on performance tuning, benchmarking, and optimization in complex environments - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience - Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts clearly - Experience or exposure to the AI/Cloud ecosystem and standard industry tooling BONUS QUALIFICATIONS: - Hands-on Rust development experience - Prior experience in high-scale cloud or infrastructure engineering environments - Deep familiarity with performance-critical infrastructure components beyond the kernel - Experience with low-level performance analysis and tracing tools
