As a Senior Paralegal – Contracts, you will report to a Supervising Attorney in the USA and work alongside Carta's US lawyers and embedded AI agents to deliver high-volume contract work with the speed and consistency that private capital clients demand.
Key responsibilities:
- Own prompt intake and first-round markup of investment-related NDAs and related documents, ensuring tight client turnaround times are consistently met
- Support Carta's US lawyers with first-round drafting and ad hoc legal work, handling volume so attorneys can focus on complexity
- Set up and coordinate client workflows, manage document portals, and drive contracts through to execution
- Deliver crisp, commercially sound contract support that reflects Carta's reputation for precision, balancing speed with attention to detail
You will be a builder creating infrastructure that accelerates innovation in private markets. The role demands someone who can context-switch between competing demands in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment without letting quality slip.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of experience in transactional or corporate practice groups, or in-house commercial legal teams, with hands-on exposure to commercial contracts and investment-related NDA drafting
- Fast and precise under pressure; thrive in high-volume, deadline-driven environments
- Strong grasp of relevant legal concepts and commercial pragmatism to apply them
- Crisp and concise written and verbal communication
- Self-starter with a builder's mindset; take ownership and spot inefficiencies
- Exposure to private capital, fund structures, or investor onboarding workflows is a strong plus
