As a Senior Operations Engineer at Impulse, you will drive manufacturing operations excellence by streamlining processes, improving data collection, and owning factory layouts. This is a technical, hands-on role in a development-heavy environment requiring execution on aggressive timelines and rapid iterations.
Key responsibilities include:
• Develop and own factory layouts for new and existing facilities, harmonizing competing requirements while optimizing material movement, build process flows, lifting/rigging solutions, and facilities infrastructure
• Create data-collection and visualization tools for manufacturing teams; define and measure key metrics and KPIs to drive efficiency and quality improvements
• Deploy Lean, 5S, and Kaizen principles to eliminate waste and streamline workflows
• Conduct time studies, identify inefficiencies, and implement process improvements
• Develop personnel-development tools such as skills matrices and training materials addressing safety, tribal knowledge, quality, and productivity
• Leverage MRP and ERP systems with enterprise teams to enhance system capabilities
• Optimize and accelerate existing manufacturing processes
• Partner with production teams to identify bottlenecks and pain points, taking ownership of solutions
• Support manufacturing capital projects including facility activations, automation initiatives, and new capability development
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or related field; 5+ years of demonstrated operations experience; proven track record developing and improving manufacturing and operations processes; experience working in a software development environment.
