Pie Insurance is transforming commercial insurance for small businesses through technology. This Senior Operational Excellence Program Manager role is an individual contributor position focused on driving cross-functional operational improvement initiatives across multiple business domains.
You will design and implement programs that increase efficiency at scale, bridging operational execution with strategic enterprise thinking. Working within Pie's Ephemeral Team model—where cross-functional teams form around specific opportunities—you'll apply proven methodologies to identify multi-domain improvement opportunities and deliver measurable business value.
Key responsibilities include:
**Multi-Domain Program Leadership**: Lead operational excellence programs across 2+ business domains using Pie's proprietary Operational Excellence Model. Coordinate cross-functional teams to build improvement portfolios, execute 10-12 major operational transformation programs annually, and achieve measurable efficiency improvements with sustained impact lasting 18+ months.
**Cross-Domain Process Architecture**: Independently manage complex operational challenges from discovery through delivery. Orchestrate stakeholder relationships across concurrent initiatives, progressing from optimizing individual domains to architecting integrated solutions that create synergies and can be replicated organization-wide.
**Advanced Methodology Application & Coaching**: Demonstrate deep expertise in operational excellence methodologies, Lean, and Six Sigma. Serve as a coach to business stakeholders, teaching structured problem-solving techniques and becoming a knowledge multiplier who elevates organizational operational maturity.
**Strategic Decision-Making & Risk Management**: Apply advanced problem-solving and first-principles thinking to deconstruct complex operational challenges. Make strategic decisions balancing competing priorities while implementing frameworks that create compound benefits differentiating the organization in the market.
**Senior Stakeholder Influence**: Create comprehensive communication strategies driving alignment across operational domains. Lead high-stakes conversations building consensus while navigating competing priorities and influencing department-level stakeholders.
The role operates at the intersection of process improvement, operational system design, and emerging automation/AI-assisted tooling. You'll help teams redesign how work runs as agentic tools mature, creating sustainable operational advantages through systems designed to compound value over time.
