Saronic Technologies, founded in 2022 and headquartered in Austin, TX, is developing autonomous surface vessels for maritime defense. The company is seeking a Senior NPI Quality Engineer – Electrical to lead new product introduction (NPI) activities and ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements throughout the product lifecycle. In this role, you will drive risk-based quality planning and ensure that design and process development outputs translate effectively into control plans and inspection strategies that support scalable, repeatable manufacturing. You will partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Supplier Quality teams to proactively identify risks, implement controls, and guide products from prototype through production. Key responsibilities include leading quality activities throughout the NPI lifecycle, developing and maintaining quality plans aligned with program milestones, and ensuring compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards. You will lead or participate in Design FMEA (DFMEA) and Process FMEA (PFMEA) activities, identifying critical risks related to product performance, manufacturing processes, supplier capability, customer requirements, and regulatory compliance. You will drive risk mitigation actions and track closure to ensure PFMEA outputs are actionable and aligned with real production conditions. You will define and execute Product and Process Validation activities, drive closure of design, manufacturing, supplier, and test-related quality issues before production release, and verify that all critical characteristics are adequately controlled. Establishing First Article Inspection (FAI) requirements and implementing preventative actions to improve product reliability and manufacturability are core to the role. You will collaborate with Supplier Quality to flow down requirements, ensure supplier inspection and validation alignment, and support supplier qualification. Additional responsibilities include supporting Material Review Board (MRB) activities during NPI builds and early production, driving root cause analysis using structured methods, feeding lessons learned back into development programs, and helping develop and maintain DFMEA/PFMEA documentation, control plans, inspection plans, and quality procedures within the QMS system. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years in automotive, aerospace, defense, robotics, or similar industries focusing on complex electronic systems design and specifications, strong knowledge of PFMEA/DFMEA, control plans, inspection planning and metrology, root cause analysis methodologies, experience with AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards, and the ability to read electrical engineering drawings including one-line diagrams, ladder schematics, networking diagrams, and wiring diagrams. Preferred qualifications include involvement in both small and large-scale NPI and product lifecycle activities, experience designing or evaluating electrical system architectures for reliable operation in harsh environments, familiarity with power distribution in low voltage AC/DC systems, knowledge of environmental qualification standards such as MIL-STD-801, MIL-STD-461, and ISO 16750, experience in integration and production environments, and hands-on experience with MRB and nonconformance systems. Saronic offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance with company-paid premiums, generous PTO and holidays, paid parental leave, competitive salary with performance-based bonuses, 401(k) with company match, stock options, life and disability insurance, pet insurance, and office perks including free lunch and unlimited beverages and snacks.
