Saronic Technologies, founded in 2022 and headquartered in Austin, is developing autonomous surface vessels for maritime defense. We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our IT team and lead the design, deployment, and management of mission-critical network infrastructure supporting our global operations.
You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-grade network solutions with a focus on scalability, security, and performance. Key responsibilities include administering and maintaining Cisco Catalyst switches and Aruba wireless infrastructure across multiple locations, managing network perimeters using Palo Alto firewalls, and configuring site-to-site and client-based VPN connections.
You will monitor network health and performance using SolarWinds or similar tools, respond proactively to alerts, and lead infrastructure upgrade projects and network expansion efforts while minimizing operational disruption. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network services with cloud and hybrid environments, conduct in-depth troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex network issues, and develop comprehensive network documentation including topology diagrams and operational procedures.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, 7+ years of enterprise network engineering experience, strong expertise with Cisco Catalyst switches and Aruba wireless technologies, proven experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls and VPN solutions, and proficiency with network monitoring platforms like SolarWinds. You must have solid understanding of Layer 2/3 protocols (VLANs, STP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), familiarity with security frameworks and segmentation strategies, and excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred qualifications include advanced certifications (CCNP, CCIE, PCNSE), experience with Zero Trust Network Architecture and SASE/SSE implementation, network automation scripting (Python, Ansible), NAC solutions, prior IT operations experience in regulated industries, and knowledge of SD-WAN and disaster recovery planning. This role requires U.S. Person status due to export-controlled information access.
