Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming military capabilities through advanced autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking. The company's Lattice OS is an AI-powered operating system that converts thousands of data streams into real-time 3D command and control centers. Anduril Australia is developing unmanned maritime and air domain systems leveraging unsupervised autonomy for long-endurance, multi-mission capability. The Extra Large Autonomous Undersea Vehicle (XL-AUV) Program and related projects require a Senior Modelling and Simulation Engineer to support rapid design, delivery, support, and evolution of next-generation autonomous vehicles throughout their product lifecycle. In this role, you will: - Lead the design, development, integration, and support of next-generation modeling and simulation architecture enabling continuous delivery of capabilities orders of magnitude faster than competitors - Serve as the subject matter expert for engineering-level simulation of Anduril platforms, including physical environment interaction and platform, system, subsystem, component, and device-level models - Simulate solutions for Guidance, Navigation and Control algorithms and Vehicle Management System component implementations - Collaborate with vendors and customers to integrate external models within the Anduril engineering simulation architecture - Create models and test/simulation fixtures operating with both software- and hardware-in-the-loop configurations - Contribute to design and development of other software systems and subsystems - Design and implement development processes for initial delivery and subsequent iteration of robotic software, including full lifecycle testing - Support vehicle manufacturing and deployment - Work as a member of a multi-disciplinary software team, mentoring Software Engineers from diverse backgrounds REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field (or equivalent experience) - Extensive experience with platform physics-based modelling and simulation - Experience writing C, C++, or Python - Systems and/or application programming skills including algorithms, data structures, concurrency, and optimization - Capacity to work holistically on software-enabled capabilities across the software stack and through lifecycle (design, implementation, operation, sustainment) - Capacity to act as technical owner for a software service, including stakeholder engagement, requirements definition, roadmap management, team coordination, design, implementation, sustainment, and evolution - Ability to learn and grow individually while mentoring junior team members effectively and building team cohesion - Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Senior role experience in simulation and delivery of a robotic system, particularly in air, maritime, or space domains - Experience with flight dynamics, platform physics, and control - Experience with MATLAB and Simulink - Familiarity with communications buses and protocols (CAN, CANFD, ARINC-825, ARINC-429, MIL-STD-1553, UART/RS232/RS422/RS485, SPI, QSPI, I2C, Ethernet) - Experience within product delivery lifecycle including manufacturing, system acceptance, deployment, and sustainment - Familiarity with System Engineering concepts - Interest in growing into Senior Software Engineer, Principal Software Engineer, or Engineering Manager roles - Interest in Tech-Lead-Manager role with line management responsibility
