Salary: USD 124,733 - 187,048 / annual

Echodyne is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its fast-growing team. The company develops the world's first compact solid-state true beam-steering radar for autonomous vehicles, uncrewed aircraft and drones, border security, critical infrastructure protection, and smart cities. The technology combines patented metamaterials with powerful software to deliver high-performance radar sensors that work in all weather conditions at commercial price points. In this role, you will be responsible for mechanical design of electro-mechanical products with deep consideration of thermal, electrical, and environmental factors. You will advise RF, Microwave, Digital, and Antenna engineering teams on mechanical, environmental, and thermal constraints while driving toward production solutions. Key responsibilities include PCB design and packaging considerations, modal and stress analysis, thermal management, and GD&T implementation. You will be an advanced user of Solidworks and will conduct both hand and computational analysis for mechanical performance. This is an exempt, full-time position based in Kirkland, WA. The role requires eligibility to handle export-controlled data (ITAR, EAR) and U.S. citizenship or green card holder status due to the export-controlled nature of the technology. REQUIREMENTS: - BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with 5+ years of experience - Senior-level experience in mechanical engineering design for electro-mechanical products - Deep understanding of thermal, electrical, and environmental considerations - Knowledge of mechanical considerations in PCB design and packaging - Advanced-to-expert proficiency in Solidworks - Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T implementation, interpretation, and explanation - Ability to perform hand and computational analysis for modal, stress, and thermal considerations - Eligible to handle export-controlled data (ITAR, EAR); U.S. citizenship or green card holder status required DESIRED SKILLS: - Proficiency in ANSYS or similar thermal and structural computational analysis software - Experience leading mechanical design of RF or millimeter-wave transmit/receive modules or PWA-based transceivers at X-band or above through qualification and product launch - ASME Y14.5 GD&T certification - Experience designing and certifying products for IP rating requirements - Knowledge of production processes and design-to-cost optimization - Relationships with local fabrication shops - Knowledge of RF isolation design approaches
