Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Material Flow Engineer to architect operational scalability for cutting-edge defense hardware production. You will take holistic ownership of warehousing, internal logistics, and material flow operations across manufacturing footprint, optimizing for quality, throughput speed, and asset utilization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and optimize scalable warehousing, line-side material delivery, kitting workflows, and inventory movement across multiple programs from development through full-rate production
- Proactively identify and eliminate bottlenecks caused by inventory processes, line layouts, parts shortages, and operational constraints through cross-functional partnerships with Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Operations
- Own data systems, dashboards, and reporting for production line health and efficiency metrics including cycle times, throughput rate, capacity utilization, process non-conformities, and inventory accuracy
- Execute time studies, value stream mapping, process mapping, and line balancing to optimize workplans and work demand for new and maturing facilities
- Utilize discrete event simulation and layout modeling tools to test operational scenarios, stress-test warehouse capacities, and de-risk production scale-up
- Champion continuous floor-level lean improvements (Gemba walks, continuous flow, one-piece flow, poka-yoke solutions) to deploy iterative, high-impact solutions
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Research, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, with progressive experience at Mid to Staff level in high-rate supply chain or manufacturing environment
- Ability to read technical drawings and CAD data with solid understanding of manufacturing processes for complex structural, mechanical, electromechanical, or electronics assemblies (PCBAs, sensor hardware)
- Demonstrated technical strength in material flow and plant layouts: warehouse design, workstation design, value stream mapping, material replenishment strategies, spatial planning
- Hands-on experience with SQL databases, custom queries, and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms such as NetSuite or Oracle
- Exposure to or proficiency with discrete event simulation software (e.g., Siemens Plant Simulation, Visual Components, Process Simulate) or stochastic line modeling techniques
- Demonstrated track record of taking end-to-end ownership of complex operational challenges, delivering sustainable improvements, and presenting data-driven recommendations to cross-functional teams
- Willingness to be onsite in Costa Mesa, CA with ability to travel up to 25% of the time across production sites
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance
