Salary: USD 145,000 - 219,000 / annual

Skydio is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes for autonomous drone products. You will drive operational excellence by optimizing manufacturing processes, improving labor efficiency, increasing production capacity, and ensuring scalable manufacturing solutions from new product introduction through high-volume production. Key responsibilities include leading the design and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to support safe, efficient, high-quality production; driving New Product Introduction (NPI) activities by developing manufacturing processes, production line layouts, tooling requirements, labor models, and ramp plans; developing standardized work instructions and manufacturing documentation; conducting time studies using MODAPTS, MOST, or stopwatch methodologies to establish labor standards; performing capacity studies, line balancing, and production modeling to identify bottlenecks; analyzing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), cycle times, and production metrics to drive throughput improvements; leading cross-functional Lean Manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste and enhance quality; partnering with Manufacturing Design Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Production, and Test Engineering teams; managing manufacturing improvement projects from concept through implementation; troubleshooting manufacturing issues and implementing corrective actions; developing business cases for capital equipment and automation; and mentoring junior engineers. Required qualifications include 7+ years developing and optimizing manufacturing processes throughout the full product lifecycle; hands-on experience conducting time studies using MOST, MODAPTS, or similar methodologies; strong knowledge of standard work development, labor balancing, and continuous improvement techniques; experience with capacity analysis, production planning, line balancing, and OEE analysis; demonstrated project management leading cross-functional initiatives; strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles; experience with ERP/MRP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle); strong analytical skills with SQL, Power BI, Python, or similar tools; ability to develop manufacturing layouts and process flows using CAD; excellent problem-solving and cross-functional leadership skills; and enthusiasm for hands-on manufacturing in a fast-paced environment. FAA Part 107 certification is strongly encouraged within 60 days and required for certain positions.
