REGENT is building Seagliders—wing-in-ground-effect craft that travel just above water at 180 mph with 180-mile range on current battery tech. The company is transitioning from prototype to full production and seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to own the manufacturing system build-out. In this role, you will lead the transition from prototype builds to repeatable, production-capable manufacturing across fabrication, assembly, finishing, and structural joining. You'll own day-to-day production execution—accountable for schedule, yield, rework, and process stability—while defining and industrializing standard work, process flows, work instructions, control plans, and PFMEAs that transform craft-level builds into scalable production systems. Key responsibilities include embedding in the design process (DFX) by partnering with Advanced Engineering through PDR and CDR to influence part segmentation, material selection, and assembly strategy before designs lock. You'll drive manufacturing and production standards by defining and validating processes, tightening variability drivers, and establishing material handling and traceability protocols. You'll integrate tooling, facilities, and automation by working with cross-functional teams on equipment and material flow requirements, and support integration of automation and robotic systems where justified. You'll build technician capability through training paths, visual instructions, certification, and 5S practices, ensuring consistency lives in the system rather than in individual star performers. You'll drive continuous improvement using production feedback to attack yield loss, cycle time, and variability—measuring baselines, changing mechanisms, and proving improvements with data. Success in the first 12–18 months means manufacturing processes are defined, validated, and repeatable; production runs are stable and not dependent on any single technician; designs reflect real manufacturing constraints; tooling, equipment, and processes are aligned; and the team is trained and ready to support low-rate production builds. You bring strong, hands-on depth in manufacturing across fabrication, assembly, and finishing on real structural parts. You have a proven track record combining process engineering (defining processes, DFX, work instructions) with production experience (supporting or leading builds on the floor). You've scaled parts from one-offs into low-rate production and understand what breaks when rate increases. You can point to specific yield, cycle time, or process stability improvements you've driven, with numbers and explanation of the mechanism. You have working knowledge of manufacturing equipment (CNC machines, presses, forming systems) and can defend tradeoffs between them. You're comfortable influencing design decisions early in PDR/CDR with manufacturability data and have successfully pushed back on design decisions and changed minds.
