Marvel Fusion, Europe's leading fusion energy company founded in 2019, is seeking a Senior Manager of Technical Projects to take full ownership of 1–2 laser projects. You will organize and steer engineering teams while managing direct customer and supplier relationships, overseeing the development and industrialization of ultra-high intensity, high-power laser systems within budget and timeline constraints.
Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining integrated project plans with timelines, milestones, resource planning, and deliverables in collaboration with technical teams. You will ensure alignment across departments, customer needs, and external partners, translating design intent into physical implementation. You own coordination of technical requirements, interfaces, and integration points between subsystems, maintaining documented records of decisions and resolutions.
You will identify technical gaps and drive resolution across engineering teams, contribute expertise to overall laser design approaches, and lead preparation and execution of customer site installations, including readiness checks, sequencing, and commissioning. Procurement coordination is critical—you'll work closely with the procurement department to align technical specifications, supplier relationships, and delivery schedules for laser components, optical systems, mechanical structures, and control hardware.
As the primary stakeholder interface, you own project reporting across all levels and geographies through proactive, structured updates on progress, decisions, and open items. You'll stay current with field advancements, potentially attending conferences, and build an inclusive, psychologically safe team environment where members feel supported and heard.
The role requires a Master's or Ph.D. in Physics, Engineering, or related field, with experience developing lasers or managing laser-related projects. You need several years managing complex technical/engineering projects, ideally EPCC-type (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning) with full ownership from initiation through delivery. Strong ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, understand system integration challenges, and maintain alignment across international teams, time zones, and cultures is essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
