Vanta is a Series D security and compliance platform helping businesses earn and prove trust through continuous security monitoring and verification. The Corporate Engineering team is the infrastructure backbone supporting 1,500+ employees, managing identity, device management, AI tooling infrastructure, and IT service management.
As Senior Manager of Systems Engineering, you will lead a team of experienced systems engineers and a tech lead, setting technical direction and establishing clear ownership across several high-priority platform initiatives. Your responsibilities include:
- Leading, coaching, and developing a team of systems engineers, setting clear expectations and maintaining high performance standards through sustained one-on-one coaching.
- Owning joiner, mover, and leaver automation end-to-end in Okta Workflows to ensure correct access on day one, through role transitions, and complete offboarding including API keys and service credentials.
- Building and owning device assurance across macOS and Windows, defining OS, browser, and device-state policies proactively.
- Rationalizing the ITSM estate to enable self-service, reduce tool administration burden, and build partner trust.
- Making Corporate Engineering a governed step in SaaS procurement with SSO enforcement and access reviews.
- Owning identity, access, and connector infrastructure for Vanta's company-wide AI stack, including MCP servers and Vercel platform integration.
- Building visibility into team workflow and capacity allocation to enable data-driven prioritization.
- Partnering with Security, GRC, Finance, and Engineering to enable safe self-service rather than impose restrictive controls.
You bring 8+ years in IT or systems engineering with 3+ years managing and developing engineers, ideally at a company that scaled through significant headcount growth. You have hands-on fluency with AI in enterprise tooling (Okta, Intune, Jamf, Atlassian, GitHub) and experience spanning identity, endpoint, ITSM, and procurement. You excel at raising team performance through coaching, have an enablement-first mindset, possess sufficient technical depth to evaluate estimates honestly, and operate effectively through influence across partner organizations.
