Brex is a fintech platform enabling companies to spend smarter through corporate cards, banking, and spend management software. The company is scaling from ~$500M revenue toward billions as part of Capital One, and has identified vendor spend as a major untapped opportunity: tens of billions in vendor payments still move via ACH and check rather than card.
You will build the Spend Conversion function from the ground up, owning the strategy, playbook, and eventual team responsible for migrating enterprise vendor spend onto Brex virtual cards. This is a 0-to-1 opportunity at the intersection of product, implementation, business development, and sales.
Key responsibilities include: defining strategy, entry criteria, engagement models, and KPIs for converting non-card vendor spend; designing an AI-native, differentiated approach (not replicating legacy manual playbooks); owning end-to-end vendor spend migration from file analysis through card activation; partnering cross-functionally with product, implementation, BD, and sales; advising enterprise customers directly on unlocking strategic vendor spend; establishing operational rigor (tracking, reporting, incentive structures); hiring and coaching a team as the function scales; and championing spend conversion internally.
You'll work hybrid from the Vancouver office (minimum 3 days/week: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday), with up to 4 weeks/year fully remote flexibility.
Required: 5+ years in B2B/commercial card, payments, supplier enablement, or vendor/payment operations; demonstrated experience building a function or program from 0-to-1 or scaling early/unstructured initiatives; working knowledge of card acceptance, merchant economics, card-on-file vs. card-per-invoice, fees, and buyer/supplier trade-offs (DSO/DPO, cash flow).
