You will lead Airwallex's strategic sourcing function, reporting to the Head of Strategic Finance. This is a strategy-led, highly analytical role focused on shaping the company's approach to third-party spend globally. You will develop category and vendor strategies across major indirect spend areas, with particular emphasis on technology, software, cloud, and strategically critical vendors. Key responsibilities include: • Develop comprehensive category strategies informed by business priorities, market dynamics, cost drivers, and vendor landscape analysis • Build a forward-looking vendor portfolio view, identifying consolidation, rationalization, re-sourcing, and strategic deepening opportunities • Shape sourcing decisions early—including requirements definition, vendor selection, commercial models, and build-versus-buy analysis • Lead Airwallex's most important sourcing initiatives and vendor negotiations from market assessment through contracting and renewal • Develop rigorous negotiation strategies using benchmarks, usage data, competitive alternatives, total cost of ownership, and vendor economics • Optimize full commercial structures including pricing, commitments, contract duration, payment terms, renewals, and service levels • Build and prioritize a pipeline of value opportunities across pricing, demand, utilization, specifications, vendor consolidation, and commercial structures • Challenge spend necessity and sizing rather than focusing solely on price negotiation • Quantify and track commercial outcomes to ensure negotiated value translates into realized financial impact • Establish frameworks and best practices for sourcing, supplier selection, negotiation, and strategic vendor management • Create a reliable source of truth for vendors, spend, contracts, commitments, renewals, and commercial risks • Bring external benchmarks and market intelligence into decision-making while establishing governance for strategic vendors Requirements: • 8+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, procurement, commercial strategy, or related field, ideally within technology, fintech, or fast-growing global businesses • Strong track record of personally leading complex, high-value negotiations and delivering material commercial outcomes • Deep experience in technology and software sourcing; exposure to cloud, data, professional services, or other major indirect categories highly desirable • Strong strategic, analytical, and financial capabilities including experience evaluating pricing structures, usage, total cost of ownership, and vendor economics • Strong commercial judgment balancing cost, capability, speed, risk, and longer-term strategic value • Ability to operate from strategy through execution—from category roadmap development to complex pricing model and contract detail work • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with credibility to influence senior internal stakeholders and vendor executives • High ownership and comfort building structure and best practices in fast-moving environments
